The House of History: How is Kangaroo Island Tourism Travelling?

This talk illustrates opinions about the enticements of Kangaroo Island for visitors. Islanders discussed tourism from the 1890s to further their economic prospects by advertising its natural beauty. Flinders Chase, realised as a fauna and flora reserve after some 30 years advocacy by mainland natural historians, was intended for sight-seeing; and present-day luxury and proposed walking trail accommodation, and The Cliffs golf links (opening in 2026), are further changed aspects of tourism, some with their opponents.
